2 Years and still going strong!

Hey Everyone,

Today marks the 2 year anniversary that I was rushed into the hospital in the early morning hours. I was seizing the entire time so I don’t remember anything from it! That is probably a good thing since they say I had around 12 seizures in a row. The doctor told me that having a seizure is like running a marathon. Now when people ask, I can tell them I’ve run 12 marathons in my life, all in the same day 🙂

Here I am with the kids a few days after waking up after from an induced coma:

Happy kids!
Happy kids! – March 9th 2012

Here we are, 2 years later. It being a very rocky journey with lots of ups and downs: Induced Coma, Biopsies, Surgery, Blood Clot, Radiation, Chemo, Meetings, Insurance Companies, Medication, Fatigue, etc, etc. This post is not me asking for Sympathy but just trying to let you know what has been involved in my Journey the past 2 years. Not much fun, but feeling MUCH better these days!

Happy 2 Year Anniversary to me!

I try to look at the many positive things I have in my life now. I think I was good at that before all of this, so maybe it helped me deal with tough days (along with a lot of crying). The main one, is that I’ve been able to watch my son, Forrest grow from the age of 6 months to 2 1/2 years old and I wouldn’t trade that for anything.

To quote Wayne Dyer, from his book Wishes Fulfilled – “I AM Perfect Health, I AM. I AM Well, I AM” . No matter what your situation is, stay positive, Miracles do happen!

If you or a loved one are affected by Cancer and would like to chat, please leave a comment (or email me from the contact page) and I’d be happy to connect with them. It’s one of those things that people who have been in similar situations really seem to get it.

I’ve been grateful to have an amazing support team, from doctors, naturopaths, massage therapists, and of course family! Thanks to all that supported me and help take care of me over the past 2 years. I’m grateful and love you all!

Lots of love,

  1. Happy Anniversary! Health and family really are great reasons to celebrate and be thankful! My husband, Greg, is a two time cancer survivor and we know what a gift life is. Enjoy your day and here’s to a lifetime of health!

  2. As are you M-A!!! You’ve inspired me from the first night I met you in Fredericton. I’ll never forget how comfortable you made me feel after when you approaced me and we chatted for a bit.

Here’s too much more good health! 🙂
