I have been doing a lot of research over the past 8 months and one thing I have learned is that we, as a culture, are not eating the proper foods to stay healthy. It’s time for a wake up call and we need to start really looking at what we are putting into our bodies. We need to make sure we have a balanced ph diet to help fight against illnesses and virus’ and also cut out all the crap that can also cause issues with our temples. Things like sugars and processed foods need to get the fudge outta our systems as they are causing major issues.
We need to make lifestyle changes (tough as heck to do after many years of abusing our bodies)
I will probably rant more about those in the future but I wanted to share some positive stories of people who have made lifestyle changes and have had an improved quality of life because of them… my mother and father!
My Mothers Story…
3 years ago my mother found out she had osteoperosis in her hips and her bone density showed that she was at risk of breaking bones. Three years later after taking calcium supplements, doing yoga, walking 5 km 5 times a week, running for 30 minutes on her treadmill 3 times a week, and changing her diet of less meat, no dairy, no gluten, more fruit & vegetables, she can now stop taking medications prescribed for her fragile bones.
My Fathers Story…
Dad had what he’d like to call a “heart event” a few years ago (aka minor heart attack). He’s been positive and calls it an event, because really, all it was form him, was a warning signal, to quit smoking, to drink less alcohol, and start eating less fatty foods. Along with additional exercise, like P90X, biking (stationary in the winter and trail and road in the warmer months) my father has really improved his quality of life and feels better than he ever has!
These are 2 stories that are close to my heart that show 2 people taking charge of their wellness (even though they both were quite healthy before), making the appropriate changes and sticking with it! I’m happy for both of them and it’s great to see them doing so well and being an inspiration for the rest of us. What changes do you plan to make to improve your quality of life? I’ve made a number that I’ll save for another post very soon!
Lots of love,
